From stone to art: an immersive journey through time

In the heart of an immersive installation, artist Stefano Arienti transforms simple elements into a powerful visual experience. In Genealogy (Part One), the paving in natural black and white pebbles leads visitors into a space that evokes a primordial cavity. The irregular pattern of the stone mosaic slab flows like a narrative, where ancient fossil-like shapes emerge: a Dickinsonia, two ammonites and a crinoid.

This pebble mosaic paving becomes a metaphor for the passage of time and biological evolution, taking the visitor on a journey through ages and civilizations. The result blends seamlessly with the museum collections and the creative energy of humankind, long inspired by nature. This artistic installation is not just a surface to walk on: it is a paving slab that tells a genealogy between life and art, past and present.
